I graduated from Yorkville University in 2016 with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and am a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I am an Intermediate-level student of Somatic Experiencing® (a body-based approach to healing trauma) and have additional training in other therapies, let us find your path together. I chose SE®, as I realized that as human beings, the act of going about our lives can be stressful. The fact of the matter is, if you are human, you have experienced one or more adverse life events (trauma). I have come to understand that everyday stresses, grief, and transitions (life events) can have a similar effect on our bodies and minds, as a major traumatic event.
On a personal note
My early life experiences are include the photography, graphic art and sign production fields. I still seek out opportunities to use creativity in my life. My camera is always nearby, and I have used creative outlets as part of my self-nurturing practice. Secondly, connections for me, have been some of the more important aspects of life. Connections to my husband, family and friends, support and nurture me, so I am able to do this amazing work. Nature and my dog, help me ground, and mornings are not complete without coffee.
